Fluid Kanban – April Update

Hi all,

I hope this note finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy. With the current COVID-19 situation, I wondered when it will be a good time to provide a pre-launch update.

The answer was clear. No time will be a good time. I must admit that too often I have found myself mentally drifting, agitated and irritable these last weeks. I can tell it is the same for everyone in my circle that I talk to. I imagine this is likely true for you too.

I started building in earnest October 2019. (For you tech folks, my first commit to ‘master’ was Oct 21st 2019.) I faced mountains of complexity and maddening trade-offs. After I conquered those, I could see clearly ahead of me. More mountains. (The song ‘Mountains’ from the movie ‘Interstellar’ is in the playlist I listen to when I code)

And as I climbed these obstacles, I also gained altitude and perspective. It is becoming clear there is something here. I feel re-assured that early private demos elicit the emotional reactions I expected. Of course, I am biased.

I will be publishing a video demo in May.

In the meantime, I created a gallery of screenshots from a recent build. I also put some of my design notes there. You can check those out at https://fluidkanban.com/dev-gallery/

A teaser screen here (the real thing):

There is still plenty of building ahead, but I am devoting more and more energy to create a clear message and a good launching email list. If you know anyone that you think will be interested in this concept, please forward them these emails. I promise to regard your endorsement with the highest respect.

Enough. Thank you for your attention!
